My Kid Biz (MKB) Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to participate in My Kid Biz?
The community based program is free for kids between the ages of 10-17.

What is the My Kid Biz Organization all about?
A community based organization with operating programs in Tennessee and Arkansas. The program is directly focused on financial literacy for kids from all walks of life. The program has a Board of Directors and volunteers from the Friends of the Omega Foundation. For further details please visit www.mykidbiz.org.

What are the details of the My Kid Biz Program:
It is a one day program that consists of various workshops through out the day. The program then features a year long curriculum through the Merrill Lynch NTFE financial literacy program. The program will focus on budgeting, saving, communication life skills and finally investing for the future. We solicit financial support in terms of grants, donations and fundraisers from local and national corporate and community based organizations.

How we will measure the success of MKB?
A survey and MKB test are offered at the end of each program. Each student that successfully completes the MKB program will receive. The My Kid Biz program is administered by the Friends of Omega Foundation. Volunteers and professionals financial and life skills instructors aid in conducting the workshops.

Where is the MKB Program held?
The program is currently held in locations in Arkansas, Southeast and Mid-west

What materials or books are needed to attend the MKB program?
The sponsoring chapter will provide all materials such as notepads, manuals, and other miscellaneous items.
